(Congruent – definition)

Unfortunately there’s no photo to illustrate this, but I saw some incongruent advertising on Wednesday whilst walking through Peterborough railway station.

There was a mini-cab driver holding a sign indicating the name of the passenger he was waiting for and on the sign it had the cab company’s name and the slogan “Service With A Smile”.

Sadly, I’ve never seen a more miserable looking cab driver. I wish I could have taken a picture, but I didn’t have my camera with me (always a mistake) and I also didn’t want to have my lights punched out.

The lesson here is that if you promote your company as providing service with a smile, make sure your staff actually smile.

Simon Says Media can help your company develop a congruent marketing strategy – call us to discuss your future marketing success.

(What was I doing in Peterborough? Subscribe to our email list to find out more in the next few days)
